Since 2007, Tuttle Training Solutions has implemented the first and only training program exclusively for cruise ship swimming pool and whirlpool spa operators. The Ship's Pool Technician course is an entry level training program developed to emphasize the equipment, chemicals and procedures used on cruise ships. This job training program is an interactive "hands on" pool operation and maintenance program that is designed to be customized using your unique policy and procedures and emphasizes compliance with the Vessel Sanitation Program 2011 Operations Manual Regulation 6.9.1.
Developed exclusively for the cruise line industry, the 130 page workbook book shows crew members step-by-step how to comply with VSP requirements and industry "best practices." Each course uses the most up-to-date information available, reinforcing learning with integrated group and individual activities. Calculations are eliminated or simplified by the use of treatment tables and other resources.
Our approach to swimming pool and spa operation utilized the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) for a simple and meaningful presentation. A Corrective Action Summary, customized based on your operation procedures and VSP requirements, is used to train operators to recognize when action is required and what steps should be taken.

Our professional trainers are available to travel to any vessel anywhere in the world. Conducting training on the ship gets the knowledge and skills directly to those who need it most, your front line staff and their supervisors. Those individuals handling the daily operations and maintaining the health and safety of your passengers.
In addition to the VSP requirements, this course also covers training requirements and recommendations from the following agencies:
- Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
- US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
- Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Department of Justice (DOJ).
- US Access Board - Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).
